Privacy & Cookies
White Screen is operated by TechneKaizen. Our browser tools work without a visitor account. Optional Google Analytics helps us understand which tools people use and how the website performs, but it loads only if you choose to accept analytics.
Policy revision: . We update this notice when our practices change.
Who runs this website?
The controller is Joshua Nimako, sole trader trading as Techne Kaizen (TechneKaizen), 34 Summerton Way, London, SE28 8QX, United Kingdom. Contact info@technekaizen.com or the TechneKaizen contact page. White Screen is the name of this free display-tool website; TechneKaizen is its operator and brand.
Information processed when you use the tools
Your pixel notes, selected observations and visual-test state stay in the current browser tab’s memory and clear on reload. Our tool code does not upload them. No account, camera, screen recording, payment or subscription is required. A manual comparison is not a hardware diagnosis.
The Plesk-managed hosting server receives ordinary web requests and may record IP address, request path, browser/user-agent, response/error information and timestamps to deliver and protect the service. Do not put private information in URLs. White Screen is hosted on an IONOS VPS managed with Plesk. We do not claim a particular physical data-centre location or that all processing stays in the UK.
Google Analytics 4: visits, scrolling and other events
Only after analytics consent, the Google tag for G-D6GVP6YD8K can measure page views, sessions, engagement and supported Enhanced Measurement events. Measurement includes page_view and scroll, plus the predefined tool events fullscreen_open, screen_test_start, screen_test_complete, pixel_test_complete and light_mode_change. Completion means finishing the manual journey, not passing a hardware test.
Google can also derive events such as first_visit, session_start and user_engagement. Enhanced Measurement can support outbound clicks, file downloads, site search, video and form interactions where enabled and supported. We have not verified that every option is enabled or observed every event. The website has no site search, embedded videos or submission forms added for analytics. Its analytics runtime does not inspect your note fields. Scrolling is measured only after consent; other Enhanced Measurement categories depend on the features actually available on a page.
We supply a canonical page location, fixed title, an empty referrer, and only predefined route/tint values for custom events. We do not supply names, emails, user IDs, note text, selected observations, symptom descriptions, passwords, search text or raw URL queries/fragments. Google still receives network information (including your IP address in transit), browser/device context and consented pseudonymous analytics identifiers. This can be personal data; we do not describe it as anonymous. No Google Signals, Ads integration, remarketing, user-provided-data feature or ad personalisation is activated by our code; advertising consent stays denied.
Cookies and browser storage
| Name | Purpose/provider/category | When and lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| ws-analytics-consent-v1 | White Screen localStorage record: choice, version and expiry; necessary preference storage. | Only when you choose; expires after 180 days unless changed. Expired/invalid choice does not authorise analytics. |
| _ga | Google first-party analytics identifier, optional analytics. | Only after acceptance; configured 30 days, no sliding update requested. Our configured cookie lifetime is 30 days, rather than Google’s general two-year default. |
| _ga_D6GVP6YD8K | Google stream/session analytics cookie, optional analytics. | Only after acceptance; approximately 30 days observed. Browser rules and Google implementation can affect actual expiration. |
No other analytics cookie was observed in the tested state. These browser lifetimes do not determine server-side event retention.
How to accept, reject or change analytics preferences
Accept analytics, Reject analytics or Decide later in the notice. Every tool works if you decline or make no choice. Open Cookie Settings in any footer to change your mind. Rejecting disables/removes the runtime and attempts to clear accessible first-party analytics cookies at the root domain/path; other open tabs receive the changed preference. A browser may prevent some deletion. Already sent or in-flight data cannot be recalled, and this does not delete information held by Google. Using the tools or accepting the Terms is not analytics consent.
Why we use this information and the lawful bases
Optional analytics is based on consent to measurement and non-essential storage/access. We do not rely on a UK statistical-purpose exception for this GA4 configuration. Essential delivery/security processing is intended to support legitimate interests in maintaining a secure, available service and preventing misuse, as described by the operator’s published policy. This processing is limited to running and protecting the website; analytics remains a separate choice.
Service providers, international transfers and retention
IONOS provides the VPS infrastructure on which necessary delivery and security information is processed. IONOS publishes its data processing agreement information; its Data Processing Agreement is included in the hosting General Terms and Conditions for this contract. Contact info@technekaizen.com for the applicable provider documents. Customer-configured IONOS backups are disabled. This does not mean that IONOS keeps no provider-managed copies or operational logs; their handling is governed by the applicable provider terms. Google Analytics processes optional measurement after acceptance. White Screen does not use the operator’s separate payment, Meta advertising or WordPress services merely because they are used elsewhere.
Domain log settings inspected on 28 October 2026 rotate specified processed/error logs around 10 MiB and retain ten compressed rotations. That is size-based, not a verified fixed-day limit for every active log, web-statistic or backup. A universal 90-day retention promise is not established for this server. Contact the controller about applicable retention and deletion; no precise unverified server retention period is asserted.
The GA4 property’s selected event-retention period, reset-on-new-activity option, account-level data sharing and regional settings have not yet been confirmed for this notice. We do not substitute the cookie lifetime for Google’s event-data retention. Contact info@technekaizen.com for the applicable settings. Google and infrastructure services may process data outside the UK, including the US. Google publishes processor terms and UK transfer provisions, including standard contractual clauses and a UK addendum where applicable; contact info@technekaizen.com for the applicable provider terms and safeguard information. We do not guarantee all information stays in the UK.
See Google’s data processing terms, Google’s transfer information, Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. These supplement, not replace, this notice. Ask the controller for applicable safeguard information.
Your privacy rights and how to contact us
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, UK GDPR rights can include access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email info@technekaizen.com; proportionate identity checks may be needed. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. No external body has certified this notice.
Changes to this policy
We revise this notice when purposes, providers, storage or relevant settings materially change. The revision date identifies a genuine revision; a new analytics purpose may require a fresh choice. The Terms of Use describe the tools’ limits.
